This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, what types we use on our websites (www.exploremallorca.es and map.exploremallorca.es), what they are used for and how you can manage or deactivate them.
This policy applies to all websites and subdomains operated by Explore Mallorca (Sebastiano Mosele) and should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website deposits in the user's browser or device when they visit it. Cookies allow the website to remember information about your visit — such as your language preferences, whether you are authenticated, or which pages you have visited — which can improve your browsing experience on subsequent visits.
In addition to cookies, similar technologies may be used such as tracking pixels, local storage or third-party scripts that function in an analogous way. In this policy, the term "cookie" refers to all these technologies.
2. Types of cookies we use
We classify cookies into four categories according to their purpose. Only strictly necessary cookies are activated without your consent. For the rest, we will ask for your express authorisation through the cookie management panel when you access the website for the first time.
Category 1 — Strictly necessary cookies (without consent)
These are essential for the basic functioning of the website and the Interactive Map. Without them, the site cannot function correctly. They do not require your consent in accordance with article 22.2 of the LSSICE.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Requires consent | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| cookieconsent_status | Explore Mallorca | Stores the user's cookie preferences so the banner is not shown again | 1 year | No | First-party |
| PHPSESSID / session | Explore Mallorca | Maintains the user's session while browsing the site (authentication, cart) | Session (deleted when the browser is closed) | No | First-party |
| __stripe_mid | Stripe | Fraud prevention and security in the payment process. Necessary for Stripe to function | 1 year | No | Third-party (EU) |
| __stripe_sid | Stripe | Identification of the secure payment session | 30 minutes | No | Third-party (EU) |
| zm_session / zm_auth (or Zonemaps equivalents) | Zonemaps / Zoneatlas Oy | Authentication and session maintenance on the Interactive Map (map.exploremallorca.es) | Session | No | Third-party (EU) |

Category 2 — Analytical cookies (require consent)
These allow us to measure and analyse the use of the website in order to improve its functioning and content. All information is treated in aggregate form and with anonymised IP.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Requires consent | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics (GA4) | Distinguishes unique users of the website. Records an anonymous identifier | 2 years | Yes | Third-party (EU/US) |
| _ga_XXXXXXXX | Google Analytics (GA4) | Maintains the analytics session state and records browsing data | 2 years | Yes | Third-party (EU/US) |
| _gid | Google Analytics (GA4) | Distinguishes users. Used to calculate the day's visit and session data | 24 hours | Yes | Third-party (EU/US) |
| _gat / _gat_UA-* | Google Analytics (GA4) | Limits the request rate to the Google Analytics server (throttling). Reduces the amount of data sent | 1 minute | Yes | Third-party (EU/US) |
| _gac_* | Google Analytics (GA4) | Records marketing campaign activity associated with the Google Analytics account. Activated when the user arrives via a URL with UTM parameters | 90 days | Yes | Third-party (EU/US) |
| utm_campaign · utm_source · utm_medium | Odoo S.A. / first-party | Remember the campaign parameters in the landing URL (e.g. newsletter, social networks) to attribute the origin of the visit. Managed by Odoo when the user arrives from a campaign email | 30 days (or session duration) | Yes | Third-party (EU) |
| op_* (OpenPanel) | Zonemaps / Zoneatlas Oy | Anonymous analytics of the Interactive Map to optimise performance. Does not identify the visitor | Session / depending on configuration | No | Third-party (EU) |
Note on Google Analytics GA4: data may be transferred to Google LLC servers in the United States, covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). Explore Mallorca has activated IP anonymisation and has configured GA4 in consent mode (Consent Mode v2), so that no analytics data is collected from users who have not given their consent. For more information, please consult our Privacy Policy (section 5).
Category 3 — Affiliate and conversion tracking cookies (require consent)
These are installed when the user clicks on an affiliate link included on our website or in the Interactive Map. They allow affiliate platforms (such as Tiqets) to identify that the purchase was referred by Explore Mallorca and calculate the corresponding commission.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Requires consent | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| tiqets_affiliate_id / _tq_* (or equivalents) | Tiqets International B.V. (Netherlands) | Affiliate conversion tracking. Records that the user reached Tiqets from an Explore Mallorca link | 30 days (according to the Tiqets affiliate programme) | Yes | Third-party (EU) |
